Happy Year of the Rabbit!

Here are some late-Ming blue & white porcelains featuring rabbits/hares, most featuring the "Moon-hare" motif.

For any of you wanting to try out blue & white (qinghua) underglaze decoration, I've posted a recipe on Glazy that is partially based on Nigel Wood's research.  The ores used for making qinghua pigments varied in purity through the centuries, and cobalt was only one component.  In particular, the balance of other oxides like manganese and iron create a rich spectrum of colors.  My recipe intentionally lacks any stabilizers so that the colors tend to melt with the glaze.  You can mix it with your porcelain clay body or some kaolin if you want less running.
